Nisa Leung at BIOHK2026
Our Founding Managing Partner Nisa Leung joined a panel discussion at BIOHK2026, reflecting on nearly two decades watching China's biotech ecosystem evolve — from fast follower to a genuine source of first-in-class science.
One point anchored the discussion: innovation only matters to patients if it can actually reach them. Regulatory alignment, cross-border capital, and clinical data that travels across borders matter just as much as the science itself.
Hong Kong’s position was a focal point of the conversation — deep capital markets, proximity to the Greater Bay Area’s manufacturing and R&D base, and long-standing relationships with regulators across Asia-Pacific. That combination makes Hong Kong more than a financing hub: it is a credible bridge between Chinese innovation and the global patients who need it.
The panelists shared views on what it will actually take to build that trust: harmonized standards, more cross-border trial collaboration, and a shared commitment to patient outcomes.
We thank the panelists and BIOHK2026 for a candid conversation, and look forward to continuing it.
